Rose clover

Leguminosae, Fabaceae Trifolium hirtum All.

This is a winter annual from the Mediterranean region, now of some importance in the Southeastern Coastal Plain and in California. It is not tolerant to low winter temperatures. It reseeds well where adapted. Plants are hairy, with rose colored flower heads, and are relished by all kinds of livestock. Use is primarily for pasturage.
