Seaside clover

Leguminosae, Fabaceae Trifolium willdenovii Spreng

Source: Magness et al. 1971

This is a perennial clover with creeping rootstocks, native in the western states where it often occurs in dense stands. it is somewhat tolerant to saline soils and competes well with salt grasses on such soils. It is palatable to livestock both as hay and pasture. It may well become more important than at present for coastal or other saline locations.
